Packaging

With the introduction of the Windows 8 platform and new brand identities for both Microsoft and Windows in the works, Microsoft Hardware was seeking a stronger visual connection with their software brands. The packaging elements were drastically simplified; eliminating cluttered call-outs and replacing them with limited, easy-to-read benefits. The slant element was a unifying device across Windows, Hardware and Office — featured in both the graphic design and the form factor. The product was photographed at a specific angle to help differentiate it from Apple.
